Do I need a BER to rent my house/apartment?

Yes. Since 2009 any residential property that is offered for let, must have a valid BER Energy Certificate and Advisory Report. The SEAI ( Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland) was set up to over see a multitude of energy relating factors, including BER certificates. A Certificate will be valid for 10 years.
